Paris Climbing Show 2026

When Verticality Takes Over the Capital

Paris has seen some strange trends over the years:

electric scooters, €12 coffees, tourists asking “Where’s the Eiffel Tower?” while literally standing under it…

But in January 2026, the capital welcomed something even more spectacular: the Climbing Expo — the event where everyone spends the day looking up. Literally.

For two days, Paris Expo – Porte de Versailles turned into a gigantic vertical playground.

Walls everywhere, holds as colorful as a bag of candy, harnesses snapping, and climbers discussing chalk the way others talk about fine wine.

In short: paradise for climbing lovers, and a slightly confusing place for visitors who came “just to accompany someone.”

A show that makes you want to climb… or sit down and watch

The 2026 Climbing Expo brought together everything the climbing world has to offer: brands, innovators, hold shapers, wall manufacturers, gyms, associations, and passionate climbers.

You’ll run into:

athletes doing one‑finger pull‑ups (while you’re wondering if you can still manage one with two hands),

shoe manufacturers promising you “more sensitivity” (translation: “it’ll hurt, but you’ll love it”),

wall builders who make you want to install a climbing gym in your living room,

and booths where safety is discussed with the seriousness of an air‑traffic controller.

All of this in a cheerful atmosphere where visitors oscillate between admiration, excitement… and the anticipation of tomorrow’s soreness.

Innovations that reach new heights

As always, exhibitors competed in creativity.

We saw:

3D‑printed holds lighter than a croissant (but definitely worse for breakfast),

belay systems that look like they came straight out of a sci‑fi movie,

climbing shoes so technical you’re afraid to walk in them in case you offend them,

and modular walls that change shape faster than a chameleon on a tartan blanket.

Climbing has never been so modern, and the 2026 expo proved it with style.

A unique vibe: passion, chalk, and self‑deprecating humor

What makes the Climbing Expo special isn’t just the cutting‑edge gear.

It’s also — and above all — the community.

You’ll hear wonderfully absurd sentences like:

“Do you think I can flash this boulder?” “I slipped, but it was strategic.” “No, it’s the chalk — it’s too humid.”

And everyone finds that perfectly normal.

Visitors often leave with:

pumped forearms, bags full of goodies, and an irresistible urge to sign up at a climbing gym… as soon as the soreness fades.

An unmissable event

The 2026 Paris Climbing Expo confirms one thing:

climbing is no longer a niche sport — it’s a full‑blown culture.

Between demos, workshops, brand meet‑ups, and passionate conversations, the event has become the annual gathering for vertical enthusiasts in France.

And if you weren’t there… don’t worry.

You’ve got a whole year to train, buy shoes that won’t make you cry, and learn to say “I fell, but it was intentional” with confidence.
